Classic Soviet Cars: Moskvitch 408
Between 1964 and 1976 the Moscow Car Factory produced the small family car, number 408, replacing the 407 (see issue 1 of our series). Strangely for this period of soviet automobile production, a large percentage of the 408 was exported; for example in 1968, 55% of production went overseas. As well as this Moscow version, the Ihevsk plant of IZH also produced a duplicate version to keep up with demand.
1:43 scale die-cast model. Our model is of the pre-1969 version featuring the original round headlight design (it was later changed to a rectangular design). With your model we will also send you a magazine about the Moskvitch 408 straight from the printing presses of Russia (so it's in Russian - but the pictures are great!)
