Classic Soviet Cars: Moskvitch 423
The 423 is the estate (station-wagon) version of the Moskvitch 402 and was manufactured only in 1957 and 1958. The resemblance is clear with our issue 1, the 407, which has a similar body to the 402 but with a spec’d up engine.
1:43 scale die-cast model. The 423 was itself combined with the 430 to make the redesigned version 424 in 1963. This comparative wealth of versions was the Soviet's first push to offer comrade customers the ability to choose different trim levels and varying uses of the base car. Of the dozen or so versions, there were even ambulance and SUV adaptations.
