San Felipe - Subscription
The legendary 17th-century Spanish 104-gun Man of War, finished size 63 x 32 x 83 cm.
The legendary San Felipe is typical of the largest warships built around the end of the 17th century to protect Spain's colonial interests in the Americas, and to safeguard the long and hazardous passage back to Spanish ports. Heavily armed and ornately finished, three-decker ships of the line such as this were symbols of the might of Spain and its ruling dynasty.
The elaborate stern and deck details make the San Felipe a favourite ship for modellers. The kit features a double-skinned plank-on-frame construction with a dark hardwood outer layer and pre-cut gun ports, cast metal parts including gun port frames, brass fittings including turned pillars and photo-etched beakhead rails, stitched sail set, rigging threads, and a pre-finished high-quality display plinth with name plate. Finished size is 63 x 32 x 83 cm.
